Job description
We are currently seeking a FULL-TIME FLOAT MEDICAL FRONT DESK under general supervision, provides a range of intake and associated administrative services pertaining to patients. Performs patient registration, patient financial services and data entry, greeting and referring patients, answering routine/administrative inquiries, and general office support activities as appropriate. Will need to travel between Waldorf, Leonardtown and Ft. Washington.
Education and/or Experience:
Associates Degree from an accredited program preferred.
Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities:
The Customer Service Representative may be assigned duties in the following areas, or other duties as assigned.
- Receives, greets, and lead patient check-in
- Handles phone inquiries from patients and others, screens calls to ascertain nature and urgency of inquiry; refers callers as appropriate.
- Makes appointments for all medical services via telephone and over the counter.
- Keeps doctors schedule and schedule for office.
- Reviews patient registration to ascertain insurance coverage, researches missing information on forms, obtains signature and release forms.
- Assists patients or family members with the completion of medical forms.
- Collects patient fees as appropriate. Ensures these fees are applied to the patient account.
- Responsible for copying and maintaining records as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining patient waiting area.
- Enters data on computer as required.
- Follows established policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards. Reports any unsafe work condition or practice to Practice Administrator.
- Follows instructions; responds to management direction; accepts personal responsibility for actions, performance and results; keeps commitments; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with alternate plan

- Independently works though situational issues and uses problem solving skills to achieve desired outcome.
- Must be personable and friendly with the ability to represent the facility in a professional manner at all times.
- May be required to travel to other locations as needed
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk or sit for an extended period of time.
- Ability to stoop to file charts.
- Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
- Communication skills using spoken word.
- Ability to see within normal parameters.
- Ability to hear within normal ranges.
- Little or no risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens.

- Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.
- Knowledge of patient registration procedures and documentation.
- Must be willing to travel.
