An entry-level position, the Crewing Dispatcher is responsible for performing any and all vessel personnel crewing and logistics-related functions on a professional level. The Crewing Dispatcher works to support the daily operation of the Personnel and Training department as directed by the V.P. of Personnel and Training. While the Crewing Dispatcher is a shore-side position, there may be instances when time onboard vessels or our fleet will be encouraged to familiarize yourself with our company culture, our employees, and our equipment. On call 24/7 for any and all emergencies, business interruptions, and employee needs after standard business hours reports to the V.P. of Personnel and Training.

The Crewing Dispatcher:

· Carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: crewing, scheduling, and accommodation logistics including but not limited to lodging and transportation needs.

· Assists the V.P. of Personnel and Training in the dispatch operations & scheduling logistics of maritime employees.

· Communicates with maritime employees on a daily basis and directs needs to the relevant department.

· Maintains crewing logs, additional pay information, and required time off on a daily basis. Enters same into crewing software on a daily basis to ensure accurate timekeeping and pay coding.

· Maintains a record of required credentials for maritime employees, ensures credentials are up-to-date dependent on job requirements, and assists with recertification processes for maritime employees.

· Utilizes timekeeping data to draft letters of service for maritime employees for required credentials.

· Assists with the organization and logistics of new hire orientation events.

· Performs other related duties as assigned by the V.P. of Personnel and Training.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

· Thorough understanding of event planning practices and techniques.

· Excellent leadership skills.

· Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with employees, customers, and vendors.

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma

· Some college or applicable and equivalent experience required.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
