Job Description
Peterson Cat has a need for an experienced Credit Manager who can be based at either our Hillsboro, OR or San Leandro CA location.
SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for managing a credit and finance team. Duties include developing and implementing credit policy, training, monitoring as well as addressing collection activities. Position will oversee the credit application process, evaluation/implementation/monitoring of risk and compliance controls.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops credit and finance teams; manages schedules and workflow.
  • Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
  • Establishes and implements procedures to achieve monthly collection goals; monitors collection activities and assists when appropriate.
  • Interfaces with appropriate personnel and managers to exchange information to facilitate collection activities.
  • Measure department performance with appropriate metrics.
  • Create and maintain budget for department expenses; monitor cost to meet budget goals.
  • Initiate process improvement and quality reviews to simplify and improve productivity within the department.
  • Develop management reporting for distribution to operating VP’s.
  • Establishes, implements, and monitors credit policy.
  • Oversees processing of credit applications, initiating inquiries into customer’s bank and trade references, assessment of the creditworthiness of customers and establishing credit limits.
  • Monitors the credit risk associated with customer accounts.
  • Interface with sales organization to communicate credit decisions and ensure timely review of new customers.
  • Collaborate with Contract Review to ensure timely response times for credit reviews during the customer agreement review process.
  • Collaborate with representatives of third-party platforms to ensure proper training and usage of systems by the team and operations.
  • Provide customers with value-added options for financing and payment.
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time to company subsidiaries as required.
  • Operate company or personal vehicle as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in Finance or Accounting or other closely related field; and a minimum of two years of directly related experience in credit/collections, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. At least three years of supervisory experience. Must be proficient in the application of state laws governing the collection of debt and the laws as mandated by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Construction lien laws. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.
The pay range for this position is: $94,499.00 - $118,124.00 (Starting wage will depend on experience and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.)
