Credit Portfolio Analysts are responsible for managing and analyzing the credit posture for each loan within their assigned loan portfolio to ensure satisfactory compliance with legal, regulatory and financial covenant requirements. The individual will work as part of a cohesive team to help ensure timely and accuracy of loan annual review completion and reporting as well as accuracy of loan risk rating.
Credit Portfolio Analysts may also undertake underwriting activities in the preparation, analysis, due diligence, discovery and completion on new lending activities, completion of loan modifications and performing sensitivity analysis for loans within their portfolio.
Position Responsibilities:
A Credit Portfolio Manager typically has a wide range of responsibilities which includes:
- Monitoring the performance of loans within their assigned portfolio to ensure they are meeting their stated legal, regulatory and financial covenant requirements
- Analyzing financial statements (I&E or TR) to measure the impact of annual operating performance against reporting conditions or covenant requirements
- Complete analytical and fact gathering data on real estate loan reviews; create updates and maintain spreadsheets; document adjustments, update rent rolls, vacancies, occupancy rates, operating expenses variance, and commercial lease(s) in Credit Track
- Update financial cashflow models with actual data to evaluate credit worthiness
- Identify potential economic/general issues with loan review that could impact the credit risk rating on the loan
- Create, support and rationalize financial proforma models based on current and projected market assumptions
- Recommending changes to an existing portfolio review process to improve workflow efficiency
- Providing research support and due diligence for determining collateral level violations threshold compliance
- Presentation at the quarterly watchlist committee on loan review status as necessary
- Collaborate and coordinating with other departments within the Bank to ensure deficiencies or exceptions noted in the annual review process are addressed timely and accurately
- Participate in team discussions and provide inputs to workflow improvements/best practices
- Respond to information or data requests from internal and external sources in a timely and efficient manner
- Support the team leader with financial modeling and analysis projects as necessary
- Perform special projects/analysis as requested
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance or accounting preferred
- Ability to analyze balance sheets, income statements, rent rolls, and cash flow information
- Ability to analyze personal financial information as presented by Credit Bureaus
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Access & Outlook, Word, Excel, Co-Star, and Moody’s
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
- Able to read, write, and speak English well
- Able to deal effectively, tactfully, and courteously with customers, visitors, and the personnel of other departments
- Ability to handle a high volume of data with attention to details
