Job Title: Credit Analyst I Effective Date: July 2022
Supervisor: Credit Manager Direct Reports: None
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluate, determine, and present the credit risks of commercial and Agricultural borrowers through detailed financial statement analysis, industry assessment, collateral valuation, cash flow analysis and the ability to repay annual debt service. Assist with management reporting.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review all pertinent credit and financial information, including but not limited to, tax returns, financial statements, projections and other credit and financial data sources.
  • Develop, prepare and review monthly and quarterly Management and Board reporting relative to Loan Portfolio and Credit Quality.
  • Determine the need for more thorough investigation or additional information.
  • Analyze financial statements and related materials.
  • Prepare summary, present facts, and offers opinions concerning credit-worthiness.
  • Gain familiarity with Bank Credit Policy, and other lending practices, to recommend an overall risk rating to the credit requests and loan relationships.
  • Assist in monitoring credit policy compliance by verifying adherence to the Commercial/Agricultural Credit Policy and Consumer Lending Policy along with commenting on any risk associated with non-compliance.
  • Assist with the annual renewals of credit lines and relationship reviews.
  • Develops credit analyses for use by Lenders in the making of lending decisions on new credit approvals and renewals.
  • Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable
  • * Assist with construction loan tracking.
  • * Maintain and monitor system tracking for new and closed loans along with review dates in core system.
  • * Prepare and respond to customer credit reference requests.
  • * Assist with communication to and from Lenders and customers.
  • * Assist Lenders with requesting outstanding financial data to support loan request and relationships
  • * Assist with tracking and monitoring Participated loans.
  • * Complete review/audit of Collateral codes for all new loans entered in core system.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics OR in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 4 years closely applicable work experience.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and related software programs.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • One year bank analyst or financial analysis related experience.
  • Strong Excel & Word skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical ability.
  • Previous experience with JHA software a plus.

Physical Requirements
Light work. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Light to moderate lifting and carrying of coin, supplies, files, etc.
Visual Acuity
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; reading. The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
