Job description
- Prepare and review vendor agreements at the direction and under the supervision of Legal Affairs counsel.
- Review and maintain vendor contracting templates (e.g. Non-Disclosure Agreements, Business Associate Agreements, exhibits and appendices). Triage vendor contracts, including facilitating necessary review, approval and execution, to ensure timely completion through online systems.
- Maintain and monitor the corporate insurance portfolio.
- Work cooperatively with Vendor Procurement and to ensure agreements are maintained, archived, and tracked.
- Provide administrative support (e.g. correspondence, scheduling) to the Legal Affairs Department.
- Draft letters and other necessary correspondence using attorney-prepared templates to support administrative filings with regulatory and government agencies, courts, information requests and vendor and provider matters and maintain a calendar of all applicable filings.
- Manage and coordinate internal review and approval of annual corporate filings of the company and its subsidiaries and affiliates.
- Assist with corporate board preparation for CCA and CCA’s affiliates under the supervision of Legal Affairs counsel.
- Perform various other paralegal tasks as needed by the Legal Affairs Department.
- College degree from a four-year undergraduate school. Paralegal certificate preferred.
- 4-7 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably at a large law firm or in-house legal department at a health care organization. Litigation, contracting, regulatory and transactional experience preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in MS Office Suite required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly email communication.
- Strong organizational skills, including typing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks independently and in a timely manner.
- Ability to make sound administrative judgments and assume responsibility for decisions.
- Must be able to anticipate the needs of the individuals assigned to support.
- Must be able to maintain information that is sensitive and frequently of a confidential nature.
