The
Controller is a key team member of the finance group. As a leader within finance, the position encompasses various aspects of financial statement preparation, financial planning, analysis, and forecasting in an effort to increase performance and improve the company’s bottom line. The position includes heavy involvement with operational staff, including project accountants, project directors, and superintendents, to understand and drive financial and operational excellence.

- Reports to CFO
- Supervises all aspects of the Accounting and Finance department; includes Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Financial Statement and Tax Return preparation.
- Keeps Walbridge Board of Directors informed of all financial matters within the company.
- Provide review and final approval of all cash disbursements
- Provide administrative oversight for the MIS area.
- Negotiate and manage daily aspects of Walbridge insurance program.
- Prepare necessary reporting with Chairman of the Board; conduct meetings with Surety.
- Administrative review of Building Support group (Mail and Office Supplies).
- Monitor all activity related to building care and maintenance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Engineering or relevant discipline.
- Active CPA License is required for this role
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting/finance.
- Proficient knowledge and experience in WIP Schedule A/P, A/R, P/R and G/L.
- Proficient knowledge in a union represented environment with Construction Industry experience preferred.
- Experience in leading and developing Accounting staff.
- Knowledge /experience with interpreting economic provisions of collective bargaining agreements.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Experience with CMiC ERP is preferred but not required
- Fluent in Spanish preferred but not required
