The Collaborative for Educational Services is currently seeking aCoordinated Family and Community Engagement (CFCE) Specialistto provide developmentally appropriate, early learning and early literacy rich experiences, including playgroups for young children (ages 0-5) in the Hampshire Regional School District (HRSD) communities: Chesterfield, Goshen, Southampton, Westhampton, and Williamsburg. Their role is to enhance and foster positive relationships between parents and their children; and to collaborate with various community partners. Responsibilities also include providing community outreach, facilitating CFCE Council meetings, and providing families with resources and information on early learning and development, parenting and on local community resources.Who We Are: We are early childhood development specialists with years of experience in counseling, consulting, teaching, parenting, training, and connecting with community resources. We engage in this work proactively and purposefully, with the intent of positive outcomes, and because we need to.We hope that you will join us in this work!This is you: You have the ability to work well with children, parents, caregivers, schools and community resourcesYou can effectively communicate with a broad spectrum of individuals, collaborate with various community groups, mediate conflicts and involve a diverse group of individuals in programming are essentialYou have experience in early childhood education; early literacy skill development, parent engagement and parent education to provide engaging, developmentally appropriate and literacy rich parent/child playgroups.You are able to travel and work a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend eventsYou have proficient technology skills, and strong oral and written skillsHighlights of What You Will Do: Establish rapport with each family and display empathy and understanding of others perspectives, needs, concerns and cultureProvide opportunities for families to learn and explore early learning and child development strategies that would enhance a childs growth and kindergarten readiness skillsProvide appropriate resources and support to meet each familys individual needs as neededConduct outreach to ensure that the community, partner agencies and schools have information about community based CFCE activities and eventsMaintain consistent communication and support to EEC licensed early childhood programs and public preschoolsMinimum Qualifications: Associates Degree in Early Childhood or related fieldMinimum of 2 years experience in a position working with young children and parentsComputer skills using MS Word, Zoom and Google Meet, Google Docs, Google Calendar, and Google SheetsPhysical Demands: Requires physical condition for leading 30 minute to 2 hour groups and be able to move, sing, interact, play, lead and follow young childrenAbility tolift up to 40 poundsDates of Service: 38 weeks school year, and 8 weeks reduced summer programmingSalary: $22/hourThis is a 12-month position per grant requirement. The hours vary according to the different CFCE programming periods over the year in alignment with school district calendars with fewer work hours in summer months, and the potential of additional hours depending on funding.
(No programming during school vacation weeks and holidays). You will work 21-23 hours a week during the school year and 4 hours a week during the summer.
