Lakepoint Wichita is seeking an experienced Full time Cook in skilled nursing for varied shifts from 6am - 2:30pm or 11:30am - 8:30pm or 10:30pm - 6:30pm 2nd shift 2p-10p; offering competitive pay, professional development and room for advancement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsible for the preparation of meals from the menu plan and assist with meal service. Maintains cleanliness of production and service areas.
Prepares all food according to the menu in a safe, sanitary manner under the direction of the supervisor. Support quality food service in accordance with Omega Dining standards within prescribed budgets.
Ensures proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods according to standardized recipes.
Prepares quality food products according to standardized recipes and menus.
Test and approve all preparations before they leave the kitchen.
Fulfills resident special meal requests and adheres to dietary requirements.
Maintain meal service records as required.
Maintains proper inventory of food and kitchen related non-food items
Adheres to all safety and sanitations standards.
Prepares food in a timely manner at specified meal times.
Responds to community issues or concerns that may occur in the dining room.
Follows departmental procedures including sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules.
Follows proper cleaning procedures and storage of all dishes, utensils and cooking equipment.
Ensures all food in refrigerator, freezer, and dry storage are labeled and dated.
Oversees proper food handling and utilization of all foods to prevent contamination, increase quality, and reduced cost.
Suggests menu or recipe changes to utilize leftovers and other supplies.
Cleans all food service equipment, kitchen and food storage areas.
Continuing education to include staff meetings, in-services and Web based training.

EDUCATION
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires knowledge of special diets.

EXPERIENCE
Obtain and hold any local or state required food handling/supervision/sanitation licenses and/or certifications.

Prefer prior experience in a commercial kitchen as a line cook.
