Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster is the largest provider of Chemical Dependency Services in the tri-county. If you're looking for a great career opportunity in the Culinary field, then look no further!
On our Sullivan County campus, we have residential and detox programs. With those programs, it is necessary to have a Culinary department to provide meals for our clients who live on campus. We are currently looking for a per diem Cook to assist in the Culinary Department. Per diem does not come with benefits.
Summary:
Cook has responsibility to understand how to prepare appetizing meals and basic knowledge of nutrition. Cook is able to prepare meals with limited supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
1. Accommodates special dietary needs.
2. Responsible for food preparation and presentation.
3. Responsible for ensuring that food is not wasted by preparing meals to portion size and number of clients.
4. Maintains food storage and stock rotation.
5. Assists in receiving supplies from Vendors and inventorying of food products.
6. Assure proper food handling procedures to maintain sanitary conditions.
7. Maintain compliance at all times with Department of Health regulations.
8. Must appropriately maintenance, sanitize and operate equipment to maintain sanitary conditions.
9. Responsible for assisting with organization and sanitation of storage areas, dining room areas and kitchen.
