We’re looking for an exceptional Controller to report directly to the CFO and lead our accounting function. This represents a unique opportunity for an experienced finance professional to get in on the ground floor. We need to move fast, scale quickly and expand our platform globally.

This role will be very hands-on and play an integral part in all aspects of full-cycle accounting operations as we scale. You will be responsible for process improvements and implementation to instill best-in-class GAAP controls and processes. This role is critical to the business and you will have the opportunity to interact with many departments within the company to support the organization in an exciting time. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, and have strong entrepreneurial, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
The Problems You'll Solve

• Own the full-cycle monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close processes and preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Hire and develop a world class accounting team as Neighbor scales
• Prepare for and lead annual audits and quarterly reviews with internal and external auditors
• Manage tax compliance and tax partners
• Oversee the quote-to-cash process including billing and revenue recognition
• Manage accounts payable and expense report processing
• Research and resolve accounting errors, discrepancies and control deficiencies
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities (i.e. ERP implementation, faster monthly close)
• Support finance team in annual budget and on-going forecasting process
• Prepare ad-hoc reporting and monthly reports

About You

• 7-10+ years of related accounting experience, preferably with several years in both public accounting and start-ups
• Enjoys a dynamic high-growth environment and can work well with less-defined processes
• Experience hiring top talent, managing a team, and working with internal stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA or equivalent experience
• A mindset to take ownership of process improvement
• Ability to work on-site at our Lehi, UT location
• Experience with Quickbooks Online, Stripe, Domo and SQL strongly preferred
• Nice-to-have: marketplace experience
