Summary Description
Responsible for the overall management of the Accounting Department, including corporate accounting and accounts payable. Oversees the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely distribution of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal monthly financial statements, external quarterly and annual financial statements and annual budgets.
Essential Functions
Oversees the preparation of the Company’s internal and external financial reports, including management reports, communications provided to the Board of Directors, and quarterly and annual SEC reporting, such as Forms 10Q, 10K, 8K, etc. Ensures that such reports are accurately prepared and completed in a timely manner.
Ensure timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends. Reports results and significant issues to management.
Monitors current developments of various accounting standard setting bodies and remains current on technical accounting literature to identify/assess possible changes to the Company’s accounting policy and practices.
Supports periodic audits and coordinates with external auditors and senior management on accounting issues.
Responsible for preparation of income tax provision and reconcilement of related tax accounts.
Reviews, develops and maintains accounting policy manual that explains how the Company interprets and complies with its significant accounting policies.
Member of the Disclosure Committee and assists CFO in communicating and explaining accounting issues and developments to the disclosure committee and senior management.
Responsible for fixed asset accounting.
Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations and their policies and procedures.
Evaluate, train, motivate, guide and develop members of the accounting staff
Position Requirements
BA/BS degree in accounting; CPA required
Minimum of 4 years of public accounting experience, Big 4 or large regional background preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP and SEC rules and regulations; knowledge of SOX process helpful
Prior SEC reporting role is highly desirable; financial industry experience preferred
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products and advanced Excel skills
Current and previous supervisory experience required
Work is generally performed indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
Typically the employee may sit to perform the work. However, there may be some standing, walking, bending and carrying of light items in the course of the work

Able to maintain professionalism under stressful situations
Ability to independently prioritize workload and determine priorities
