The Contracts Attorney will work alongside the General Counsel to provide legal advice, counseling, and other services to the company. Responsibilities:

  • Support activities of General Counsel performing contract review, insurance management, and other tasks;
  • Provide advice, counseling, and other legal services to the company on various matters such as commercial contracts, compliance, business transactions, governance, litigation management, human resources, and regulatory matters including:
  • Contract negotiation for a variety of standard and nonstandard contracts and subcontracts
  • Review and analyze contract terms and conditions and provide direction to internal project managers

Requirements:

  • Juris doctorate and appropriate licensure to practice in a state with the ability to be admitted in the state of Illinois or have other experience commensurate with these requirements
  • 2-5 years of practical experience with at least 2 years of experience involving contracts preferred
  • Experience working with insurance matters preferred
  • Ability to lead projects and people and work with staff at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, teamwork, negotiation, and client communication skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on strong writing skills

  • This position requires visual acuity and listening ability
  • Individuals must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computer, printer, fax, copier, telephone, voice mail system, and other office equipment
  • Position requires the ability to remain for extended periods at a workstation, as well as the ability to lift 25 pounds

Annual starting base salary (gross): $52,000 - $87,900. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on several factors including consideration for a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base salary is one component of our total compensation package for employees.
