NW Priority Credit Union is excited to offer a position within our Loan Department at our Main Office. As a Consumer Loan Officer, you will work directly with members from the start of their loan to the very end. Your prior lending experience will be a breeze in making connections and learning about their lives to offer the best loan solutions. The credit union provides many types of consumer loans to accommodate our members. You also work with other departments, providing support while upholding the credit union philosophy of people helping people.

• Performs lending functions in conformance with established credit union policies and procedures. Interviews loan applicants in person, by telephone and e-mail, gathering required information for credit applications, explaining loan options, rates, terms and collateral requirements.
• Provides routine information on credit union loan services, types of loans available, eligibility requirements, rates, terms and collateral requirements. Provides financial counseling.
• Recognizes members needs for various services and cross sells credit union services when appropriate or refers members to appropriate department when necessary.
• Answers routine member inquiries regarding account balances, payment amounts, status or history. Gives Blue Book information upon request.
• Obtains credit reports when required, verifies debts, calculates monthly payments, calculates debt ratio, verifies income, determines collateral needs and verifies insurance coverage for each applicant.
• Approves loans to a predetermined loan limit. Refers loans over predetermined limit to designated individuals.
• Prepares loan documents, including notes, security agreements, payroll deduction authorization, vehicle title forms, etc. Verifies that all documents have been accurately completed. Prepares disbursement checks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Experience: Minimum three years underwriting and interviewing experience

Software Skills: Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Physical Demands: Required to sit for extended periods and occasional walking to provide member services. Noise level moderate to high in immediate area and normal range of hearing necessary to communicate by telephone and in person with staff and members. Finger manipulations required for data entry into computer.

Work Conditions: Regular work day with occasional overtime. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions (robbery).

Other Skills: Strong organizational and analytical skills required to resolve member/staff questions or problems. Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills to represent the Credit Union professionally and positively to members and to interact daily with staff and management. Ability to exercise judgment and maintain confidentiality in dealing with membership and staff. Must be able to analyze situations, weigh alternatives and make independent decisions. Ability to complete or resume tasks despite interruptions.
