Job description
Ensures that operational policies are followed and that business objectives are achieved by focusing on best practices and process improvements. Responsible for operational metrics and business results for assigned area of responsibility. Typically manages individual contributors and/or entry-level managers. Monitors consultant activities and performance on projects (e.g. read status reports, respond to staffing and availability issues, pro-actively seek out project performance reviews, etc.). May serve as project advisor for moderately complex engagements.
8+ years of experience relevant to this position including 4 years of consulting experience. Management experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Product, technology or industry expertise relevant to the practice focus. Ability to travel as needed.

The Americas (AMERS) Consulting Practice Manager will (1) support sales growth, (2) manage staff, and (3) oversee delivery excellence assurance in the region; specifically, for the technical delivery of infrastructure, integration, and performance of the on-premises and cloud platforms for the Utilities applications. This key position will have multiple responsibilities: support consulting sales and sales relationships; coordinate recruiting; onboard and enable staff; lead a delivery project; collaborate with Oracle’s Global Delivery Centers; facilitate management communication; and handle customer escalations. The AMERS Consulting Practice Manager will report to the Sr Director, Global Technical Delivery, but will independently lead regional activities by working with customers and other key stakeholders. The role requires technical skills in the disciplines of infrastructure and integration.
KEY OBJECTIVES:- Assist in growing the consulting delivery business for the AMERS region
- Engage with customers on delivery projects for integration implementation
- Support sales estimation, response, and presentations
- Assist in hiring the best talent to join a developing team in AMERS
- Collaborate with Oracle Global Delivery Center (offshore) managers
- Collaborate with consulting leaders of other global regions
- Communicate regularly with the management team for Energy and Water Global Delivery
- Perform project responsibilities including advising, planning, and executing as part of a technical delivery team
- Communicate regularly with GBU management to provide regional information about the project pipeline, current project status, and events
- Communicate regularly with the regional sales team to support consulting sales
- Regularly interact with customers and regional stakeholders/PMs to understand new requirements and/or provide status updates on existing projects
- Provide estimates and draft proposal for customer requirements and support pre-sales during the bid process
- Assist with interviewing employment candidates for the region
- Assist in developing the regional team by coaching and mentoring on implementation best practices and skills
- Coordinate project staffing and guidance with Global Delivery Center managers and staff for regional projects
- Participate in planning for resource staffing based on quarterly forecasts.
- Investigate and resolve operational or implementation problems in conjunction with other technical personnel
- Work primary business hours to accommodate customer and stakeholders in the AMERS region
- University degree in Engineering in IT, Computer Science, or any of its equivalents
- At least ten (10) years in implementation services/projects preferably in a multi-national organization
- At least four (4) years’ work experience as a lead with infrastructure, integration, and performance on technical projects
- Experience in estimation
- Experience implementation of applications on different cloud platforms (SaaS / PaaS / IaaS).
- Experience with Oracle middleware products and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
- Knowledge of Oracle Utilities applications like CC&B and MDM etc. is preferred
- Experience in working with global customers and stakeholders
- Experience coordinating events and handling customer escalations
- Must have excellent analytical, problem solving, English communication and presentation skills
- Resident of the AMERS region, preferably United States
- Ability to travel up to 50% for onsite work and meetings as requested
