BRG’s Corporate Finance Consulting Training Program offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates with diverse academic majors (including non-finance) to become part of the BRG Corporate Finance practice, which provides financial and operational advisory services to companies across the corporate lifecycle. Those selected will take part in a 24-month program that starts with an internal practice role as a Case Assistant and then transitions into a consulting client service role as an Associate.
For the first 15-18 months, the Case Assistant is immersed in learning about the Corporate Finance practice and supports the team with case administration and bankruptcy filings with the court. This role will include performing detailed review of client billing information for legal compliance. After the initial phase as a Case Assistant, successful candidates will be offered an Associate role, an entry-level consulting staff position. The role of an Associate is a client facing role, working with other consultants in teams on a variety of projects in our Corporate Finance Group across Turnaround & Restructuring, Private Equity Services, Finance Excellence, and Performance Improvement.
The ideal candidate is a Liberal Arts graduate with a major in Economics or other discipline with a track record of success. The candidate should be able to prioritize and manage a multifaceted workload in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. The individual should be comfortable working with a team of consultants as well as having the ability to work independently on assignments from conception to completion. The candidate should be a proficient problem solver with strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills. Candidates must be able to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations and handle confidential matters with discretion.
Job ResponsibilitiesCase Assistant Role:
- Work with consulting teams to prepare administrative materials necessary to be retained by clients
- Lead the process to prepare documents setting forth fees incurred and services performed for approval by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court
- Lead the process to assess and evaluate potential conflicts and future potential conflicts and existing assignments
- Coordinate and liaise with various internal departments regarding retention and billing
- Provide additional practice support as required
- Ensure sensitive and confidential materials are handled properly
- Contribute to the day-to-day activities of BRG Corporate Finance client service teams executing on business improvement initiatives
- Utilize business, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to perform tasks including financial modeling, business process optimization, data analytics and visualization, financial statement review, and business plan assessments
- Assist with preparation of reports, written analyses, presentations, and other deliverables
- Participate in the development of a fast-growing, entrepreneurial consulting practice including assisting in marketing, client pitches, and product and practice development
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; and/or
- Economics, Business Management, or a STEM major preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of one-year experience, preferably in a professional service setting such as consulting, legal or accounting;
- Familiarity with and ability to parse legal and regulatory language is strongly preferred; and
- Advanced proficiency required in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
