Responsibilities:
URC seeks a consultant with significant experience, skills and qualifications in grants management to guide the organization by sharing best practices and delivering training on how to effectively integrate grants into existing processes for business development and project implementation. URC will engage the consultant through a blanket purchase agreement under which specific work orders with prescribed deliverables and timelines will be issued. The expected deliverables URC requires of this consultant as work orders under a blanket agreement might include:
  • Developing and delivering trainings on different grants mechanisms, the design of grants programs in proposals (grants under contracts and grants under grants) and their execution in implementation
  • Providing subject matter expertise in the creation and integration of grants programming in project design for business development efforts
  • Advising on best practices for using grants to accelerate local capacity development
  • Assessing grants programs under existing projects
  • Assessing and revising/updating URC’s grants manual
  • Advising and/or leading on the development of a grants management function

Qualifications:
Required Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible grant management experience in international development
  • At least 5 years of grants management experience under USAID-funded projects in complex environments
  • Deep understanding of operational and compliance requirements of international donors
  • Experience integrating grants programming in proposal development and project design
  • Prior experience developing and deploying grants management programs at both a corporate and project level
  • Experience developing and delivering grants management trainings
