We are currently seeking an exceptionally talented Construction Materials Testing Assistant Manager for our Fort Walton Beach, Florida office. This position is responsible for assisting with overall laboratory and field management, including employee training and development, quality control, and client relations. This is an opportunity to assist LMJ to propel growth in the FWB area in the hopes of the candidate moving up to be the Laboratory and Department Manager.

Duties:

• Oversees projects in department.
• Acts as a project manager on major projects.
• Trains field technicians.
• Supervises or direct work assignments to field technicians.
• Performs on-site inspections and collect samples and/or perform testing as necessary, including density testing, concrete/mortar/grout sampling, breaking, and reporting, pile monitoring, rebar inspections, etc.
• Provide necessary project information to Testing Administrator for proper project billing and other needed project information.
• Implement QA/QC and safety guidelines and procedures.
• Attend preconstruction meetings.
• Provide leadership to our team of technicians.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of construction materials testing experience.
• Superior technical ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have valid Florida driver’s license and clean MVR.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Physically able to work and walk in outdoor/construction site environments with uneven terrain and variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, noise, and moisture.
• Preferred: ACI Strength, ACI Concrete Field Technician Level 1
