JOB DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International’s Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators, and safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.

DESCRIPTION

Under direct supervision, assist Construction Specialists and Managers with field construction services. Responsible for oversight of assigned projects duties. Document field activities and maintain electronic records of project activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the oversight of construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
  • Assists with the review of plans and specifications for construction operations being performed.
  • Reports field site results/on-going information to construction specialists and managers.
  • Maintain project documentation including correspondence with the co ntractor
  • Drafts routine correspondence to the contractor or others
  • Assists with the maintenance of a database of information concerning ongoing projects.
  • Maintains quality of work in accordance with the standards specified in the design documents.
  • Tests co nstruction materials to meet quality assurance requirements of the design.
  • Frequent travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specific Job Details

  • Position is located in Reading, Pennsylvania.
  • Approx. 12 to 20/hours week.
  • Anticipate Construction to start Mid-July 2022 and finish January 2023.
  • +-17,000 square foot commercial tenant fit-out with demo of existing.
  • Re-work of existing structural exterior masonry to accommodate new storefront door and window openings.
  • Oversee installation of security features of the proposed space.
  • Make renovations to parking lot to meet owner’s requirements.
  • Supervise the over-all quality of the quality of the construction.

Education

  • Two-year degree or construction experience
