Integrated Systems Solutions (ISS) is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to support the Human Health and Performance (HH&P) Directorate at the Johnson Space Center (JSC).

Configuration Management (CM) – Overview of the task

The CM Specialist shall develop, implement, and administer a CM operation across the HH&P Directorate in accordance with Human Health and Performance Configuration Management Plan and Change Request Process Work Instruction and generate monthly performance metrics to measure CM performance and workload, and provide CM guidance and input to NASA.

What you'll do:

  • Provide support to program to ensure Configuration Management (CM) requirements are implemented, including planning, identification, control, status accounting, and auditing
  • Generate program specific configuration management plans that tailor existing procedures for implementation of contractual requirements Interface with various functional and contract teams to ensure configuration control of approved documents, drawings, engineering changes
  • Interface with both internal and external customers to ensure configuration control of program developed product documentation
  • Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and met, and reviews change management activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies
  • Review and analyze released engineering change data and collect metrics
  • Manages the engineering document change process by facilitating approval documentation and participation in or chairing the change control board utilizing electronic PDM Tool
  • Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals Exhibit ethical standards in all aspects of CM related activities ensuring quality, data integrity, and compliance of engineering documentation and in the performance of CM policies. procedures, and methods
  • Conduct verification and audit tasks relating to CM surveillance and formal audits

Configuration Control

    • Support the implementation of the HH&P change process in accordance with Human Health and Performance Configuration Management Plan and, Change Request Process Work Instruction. There will be approximately 200 CRs per month
    • Provide CM support for all HH&P sanctioned control boards, panels and specific ad hoc Directorate meetings as needed
    • Provide for the archival and maintenance of all presentation materials, actions, decisions, and minutes on the meeting dashboard for all HH&P Control Boards and Panels identified in task orders
    • Establish and maintain the HH&P CM Receipt Desk. The CM Receipt Desk is the conduit for all CM related data entering and exiting the HH&P Directorate
    • Serve as the expert on the HH&P tools and processes; provide training and guidance for the Directorate in the use of any of the tools and process for successful performance of the CM activities

What you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
