We are seeking a highly motivated individual to fulfill the position of Conference and Event Manager. The purpose of this position is to assist potential clients with conference and event planning at the Hotel and Convention Center as well as offsite venues utilizing Premier Waterfront Catering. The ideal candidate will be friendly, client-focused, and passionate about developing business in our community.

Job Description:

• Schedule and conduct appointments with prospective customers, promoting hotel facilities, planning event details, suggesting menu and meeting items, and conducting taste tests.
• Compose emails, reports, and contracts (to include banquet event orders, sales contracts, booking reports, call reports, etc.).
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of businesses’ sales policies and procedures.
• Represent the business with a high level of professionalism and good judgment.
• Develop and grow food & beverage sales and associated guest room sales in the segments of conferences plus corporate and social events.
• Follows up on all leads and monitors all tentative business until definite commitment
• Develop and maintain communication with current and potential clients about their events leading up to, during and after.
• Attend local community networking groups to develop business.
• Focus on achieving food and beverage sales goals and objectives.

Job Requirements:

• One year of hotel, event management, and/or sales experience in a related field
• A college degree is preferred
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and be organized
• Must have a flexible work schedule. Night and weekend work will be necessary.
• Valid driver license and good driving record
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Professional appearance and presentation skills
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
