Scope/Purpose of the Position
The Project Standards Review Associate is responsible for providing support to all business channels that utilize the Condominium and Cooperatives products. These responsibilities include working with internal and external associates to ensure the project meets company and agency eligibility criteria. This role will focus on delivering excellent service to customers while meeting production and quality goals defined by management.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Project Review:
    • Review project documents including Master Insurance Policies, HOA Annual Budgets, Co-op and/or Condo Questionnaires, financial documents, legal recorded documents and property appraisals to ensure the project meets company and agency guidelines
    • Address and resolve inquiries via phone or email related to projects from internal and external associates (Sales, Processors, Underwriters and other company staff).
    • Perform initial project reviews and conditional approvals within the posted turn times to maintain a high level of service
    • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and all the Agencies the Company underwrites condo and co-op projects for including FHA condo project reviews via the SUA and Delrap underwriting method to understand the intent of unique and guidelines
    • Responsible for submitting exception requests to the agencies for criterion which falls outside of posted guidelines
    • Monitor condo email box; answer questions or scenarios by OPS and/or sales when directed by management
  • Continued Training:
    • Responsible for completing ongoing training and educational sessions for mortgage industry and project review standards
Key Performance Indicators
  • Response time completed within 15 minutes of receipt of email

Work Experience and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of all Agencies the Company underwrites condo and co-op projects for including FHA and VA
  • Excellent analytic skills, attention to detail, and ability to work within time constraints.
  • Excellent level of oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate across a variety of audiences.
  • Intermediate level of computer skills and the ability to function in a windows environment utilizing Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Professional and effective interpersonal skills. Solid decision-making skills with display of professionalism in maintaining confidentiality.
  • Strong time management skills, fast learner, self-motivated, and comfortable taking initiative and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Reports to work on a daily and timely basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent skills and knowledge
  • 1-2 years Conventional, FHA Condo Project Processing/Mortgage and VA to condo experience
  • 1-2 years of Conventional Co-Op Project Underwriting
  • 5+ years mortgage industry experience preferred
