Position Summary

Under direct supervision, this position is a senior level position requiring subject matter expertise to perform as the company COMSEC Team lead and COMSEC account manager. Primarily responsible for COMSEC account management and compliance per company policies, and all government agencies.

Duties

Core duties and responsibilities include the following:

Responsible for the receipt, custody, issuing, safeguarding, accounting and destruction of COMSEC material. Maintaining all required records and reports in accordance with established policies and regulations.

Conducts required self-inspections and audits of all COMSEC and Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI).

Implement and oversee procedures to maintain mandatory government compliance and accountability standards for cryptographic materials.

Collaborate with program staff, equipment vendor, and government sponsors to manage the procurement of CCI material to ensure supply, customer procedures and standards are adhered to.

Ensure compliance with all government agencies regarding mandatory training requirements.

Develop, maintain, and ensure initial and annual briefing and training of all COMSEC and Crypto trained staff to include process and procedures for operation, compliance, and accountability of CCI.

Demonstrate expertise in the use and employment of various key loading devices, such as SKL, RASKSL, STE or VIPER.

Lead all alternate/team COMSEC custodians by providing oversight, training, scheduling, and guidance throughout all custodial activities.

Ensure compliance and readiness for all annual COMSEC inspections.

Investigate, document, and report all COMSEC incidents to the appropriate government officials or agencies.

Collaborate with the company IT department representatives to isolate, install, and troubleshoot secure and air gapped networks. Ensure that government networks and associates assets remain secure and in full compliance.

Develop a plan to maintain a cryptographic key plan in compliance with COMSEC standard operating procedures (SOP)

Provides continuous availability to support critical response to emergency issues that may involve COMSEC.

Assure the training of all COMSEC personnel regarding the use of all COMSEC related equipment.

Perform other mission related Security duties as assigned during non-COMSEC periods.

Qualifications (required related experience)

Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport Offices and facilities on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

Active TS SCI clearance with CI polygraph.

Must be a US citizen.

Must be able to maintain secured access to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport and supporting facilities.

Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in the Security or IT field.

Minimum of 5 years direct experience with all COMSEC related disciplines, to include Account Management, and Electronic Key Management. Position requires a working knowledge of security policies, practices, and principles.

Education (required minimum education level):

Must possess a bachelor’s degree or 10 years of directly related experience.

COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) Certification
