As a growing company, we are always looking for new team members to help us continue in our success. Currently, we are seeking a Competitor Assortment Analyst who will be responsible for cross matching items over to Orgill stocked vendors, analyzing hardware store inventory files and performing maintenance of databases. Good performance will be rewarded and the expectation is for you to grow within Orgill.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts internet research to look up customer products from competitor distributors to determine the best available match stocked by Orgill by analyzing product type, pricing and package using your knowledge of hardware products, categories and assortments.
  • Assists with maintaining competitor databases.
  • Participates in maintaining our Hardware 101 program, which provides marketing research analysis for our customers. (Independent hardware, home improvement, and building materials retailers)
  • Reviews and analyzes Hardware 101 reports with the goal of developing the best overall assortment that the customer should stock.
  • Analyzes the Orgill POP database and provide detailed, accurate, consistent verbiage for POP cards that will be merchandised at store level.
  • Assists at our dealer market in Orlando, FL in February and another major city in August by merchandising during setup and running valuable reports for our customers during the event.
  • Performs other duties to assist the Concept Center team as needed, such as scanning/labeling planogram sets and analyzing assortment files for corporate accounts.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in a business-related area preferred.
  • 3-5 years of work experience gaining knowledge with products found in hardware stores. (e.g. hardware/home improvement, mass merchandise, auto parts, building and supply at retailers/wholesalers/vendors/builders, etc.)
  • Above average computer skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Word and preferred working knowledge of Gmail and G Suite applications.
  • Detailed and analytical in nature.
  • Ability to stay on task and work productively with limited supervision while making constant decisions.
  • Ability to travel twice yearly to company dealer markets.
