We at Athena Care at Home are seeking those Homemakers and Companions who are passionate about providing care to clients in a one-on-one environment where you can focus on their individual needs.

This position promotes flexible schedule by giving you the opportunity to schedule the days, times and geographic area you wish to work promoting a healthy work/life balance.

We care for our staff so they can care for our clients. We provide personalized training based on Best Practices and the individual staff member’s needs.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

• Assist with daily household task such as light cleaning, meal planning/preparation and laundry.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Accompany clients to appointments and errands in the community.
• Socialization in the home and community.
• Redirection and intervention for behavior, including observation and monitoring.
• Appropriate reporting of changes in client status.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Eighteen (18) years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• United States Citizenship or evidence of a valid Alien Work Permit.
• Reliable Vehicle
• Active Driver’s License
• Active Registered Vehicle
• Vehicle Insurance with proof of coverage

Certificates, Licensure and Registration

• United States Citizenship or evidence of a valid Alien Work Permit.
• Position is subject to a Connecticut Department of Human Services background check.

EXPERIENCE:
Eldercare experience preferred, but not necessary.
