SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Entry-level professional positions begin at this level. Provide home and community-based family services, including crisis intervention, counseling, skill building and advocacy. This is a 24-hours a day, seven days a week program.
Work Schedule: full and part time hours, including evenings and weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Must be able to maintain a flexible, accessible, and responsive work schedule.
- Have skills in assisting youth in navigating formal and informal systems
- Advocates for the youth and builds advocacy skills with the youth.
- Provides individualized coaching and skill building
- Schedule and complete client intake according to program policy.
- Conduct holistic, strength-focused assessment process.
- Provide a range of clinical, concrete and advocacy services to family members that are consistent with the family’s values, learning styles, lifestyle, circumstances, and culture.
- Be aware of and respond appropriately to potential safety issues.
- Provide in-the-home and on-site education and skill building activities.
- Provide culturally and ethnically appropriate family services and intervention strategies.
- Utilize motivational enhancement and cognitive/behavioral strategies.
- Utilize a collaborative goal setting and teaching approach.
- Use effective strategies for engaging, defusing, and confronting clients through collaborative problem-solving techniques.
- Develop and facilitate linkages for youth and families with community resources and informal supports.
- Solicit feedback and input from the youth and family about all aspects of the intervention.
- Implement discharge process at end of intervention.
- Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
- Is prompt and accurate in completing all required reports, statistics, and other requirements.
- Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
- Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
- Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
- Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal or external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or video media.
- Creates, maintains and shares as appropriate a dynamic self-care plan.
- Strives to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible to contribute to the agency’s ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
- Essential functions of this job are to be performed on company physical work site.
- Performs other program related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field required
- Experience with in-home services preferred
- Valid Driver’s license, acceptable driving record
