Position Overview

The Certified Community Health Worker Instructor/Trainer provides core content instruction to students based on industry standards and practices. This person plays an instrumental role carrying out organizational strategies regarding training development, delivery, and workforce enhancement. Additionally, the instructor also works in tandem with program leadership and cross-department representatives to maximize academic achievement, retention, completion, certification, and placement outcomes to ensure overall health and integrity of the program. This is a remote position, and the Trainer must reside in Oregon.

Essential Duties

  • Teaches the Community Health Worker curriculum in accordance with industry standards and practices virtually.
  • Facilitates discussion forum to ensure student/trainee engagement and interaction.
  • Proactively monitors the performance of students/trainees and actively outreaches as needed.
  • Provides academic feedback in a constructive, positive, and timely manner.
  • Creates learning support tools to support students/trainees based on demonstrated needs.
  • Is regularly active in assigned courses and hosts weekly office hours.
  • May provide instruction in synchronous group sessions based on student/trainee eds.
  • Maintains training records and tracks data required for improvement of training content and delivery.
Requirements:
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience and progressive growth in the field of instruction/training is required.
  • Must be a resident of Oregon.
  • Must be Community Health Worker (CHW) Certified.
  • Undergraduate degree with an equivalent of 15 semester credit hours in the subject field is required. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Must have experience designing training curricula and materials and delivering training to non-traditional students/trainees, ideally in a virtual environment.
  • Must be effective in transferring knowledge via Zoom/Teams delivery with confidence and clarity to keep students/trainees engaged.

Base Pay Overview

The typical offer range for this role is minimum to midpoint ($87,767), with the midpoint representing the average pay in a national market scope for this position. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors directly relevant to this position, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, responsibility, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

To keep our colleagues, members, and communities safe, OCHIN requires all employees—including remote employees, contractors, interns, and new hires—to be vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine, as supported by state and federal public health officials, as a condition of employment. All new hires are required to provide proof of full vaccination or receive approval for a medical or religious exemption before their hire date.
