As a Community Engagement & Co-Sponsor Developer, you will be primarily responsible for community outreach and cultivating new relationships by giving presentations/trainings and attending outreach events. The individual will also be responsible for regularly analyzing the existing relationships and finding opportunities to strengthen the partnership.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the co-sponsorship pipeline through all stages of the process: conducts co sponsorship orientations, invites groups to co-sponsorship training, matches co sponsoring groups with refugee families/individuals;
  • Initiate contact with new community groups to explore points of connection and opportunities for learning about the mission of Bethany;
  • Maintain contact with groups that are already involved with Bethany and/or have been involved in the past and follow up on outreach activities;
  • Participate in ongoing discussions regarding co-sponsorship program evaluation and management;
  • Initiate and manage and/or directly execute small group meeting and/or workshops with community groups interested in working with Bethany;
  • Perform speaking engagements and presentations about Bethany’s refugee resettlement & co-sponsorship program;
  • Work to address organizational needs and to foster program development by matching skilled volunteers with identified needs. If necessary, manage the ongoing relationship between the volunteer(s) and the Bethany department they are assisting;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Bachelor’s level degree in a public relations, social work or related field of study from an accredited college;
  • Previous administrative experience preferred;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service;
  • Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks;
  • Exercise a high level of confidentiality;
  • Work well under pressure and adaptable to change;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs and typing skills to perform essential job functions;
  • Working knowledge of business English, Spelling and Math;
  • Bilingual skills preferred;
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures and business equipment;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Active motor vehicle license and maintain a reliable vehicle with adequate insurance coverage;
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency
    registries;
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commitment.
