SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Following CFR/CCR&R written policies and procedures, and the scope of work for CCR&R, Community Engagement Specialist shall:
- Conduct consumer engagement, community outreach, and networking activities to provide education on the services offered by CCR&R to the target populations that shall include, but are not limited to: potential and existing ADES Contracted Providers, potential and existing DES Certified Family Child Care Providers, potential and existing Registered Providers, parents and guardians needing or utilizing childcare, community‐based organizations, employers, schools, hospitals and health care facilities and others
- Maintain and staff at least one physical location a minimum two (2) set days per week, and conduct community outreach and networking activities at a minimum of three (3) days per week while ensuring minimum of 12 community outreach and networking activities per month
- Coordinate with Supervisor/Program Directors and/or ADES in representing CCR&R in local groups, councils, community forums and committees relevant to early education and child care, to ensure a better understanding of CCR&R’s role in local communities
- Participate in and promote CCR&R program and services at community fairs, events, conferences, job or health fairs, family or child care events and/or anywhere deemed appropriate by leadership or ADES
- Distribute CCR&R consumer education and marketing materials within the community to government agencies, employers, local businesses, and other social service organizations by mail, fax, email, or in-personas needed/requested
- Help recruit new child care providers and existing providers to become licensed, certified, registered and/or contracted with the state and help increase the supply of child care options; offer New CCR&R Family Childcare Network & Registry Orientations
- Offer Family Child Care Provider peer support groups and peer-to-peer discussions, problem identification, resolutions, and best practices at least quarterly
- Provide technical assistance in the form of information, tools, resources and/or child care support services to new, existing and potential center-based, family child care and/or registered providers by answering questions, providing information and resources as they relate to child care, locate local or state professional development opportunities, business practices, state licensing or certification requirements and more
- Meet performance goals and quality improvement initiatives, including one-on-one coaching, group meetings and supervision, in-person observations, performance measures, evaluation and tracking of program outcomes, regular and annual performance reviews, and compliance reviews
- Enter client data and utilize Salesforce to document and track all community outreach and networking activities, contacts made, materials delivered, as well as, generate data and reports report to the ADES on the monthly report
- Attend C&FR and CCR&R all staff or team meetings, trainings, and events as required
- Complete other duties as assigned by the CCR&R Senior and/or Assistant Program Directors, Program Supervisors, Vice Presidents, and/or CEO/President
EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Family Studies, Human Development, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Social Service, Communication, or Education from an accredited institution preferred
- Work or volunteer experience in child care and/or early childhood education programs preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish; oral, reading and writing ability required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Must have or ability to obtain a knowledge and an understanding of child growth and development, early intervention, home visitation, parent support, health and safety, family engagement, cultural diversity competence and linguistic sensitivity
- Effective, strong active listening, public-speaking, oral and written communication skills require
- Must be a customer service role model to ensure positive relationships and interactions with all customers
- Knowledge of child care Arizona state licensing and certification rules and regulatory information, as well as, triaging complaints and expulsion/suspension requests preferre
- Knowledge of national accreditation and state quality improvement rating systems preferred
- Knowledge of local and state community resources and social service programs throughout Arizona
- Resourceful and proactive in finding and educating consumers on an array of community resources
- Previous database and data entry experience preferred; Salesforce database experience a plus
- Ability to multi-task of many different duties and tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented, highly-organized, and excellent time management skills are required
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and internet browsers and web-based software, databases and programs preferred
- An ability to acknowledge, respect, and build upon the diversity of families with regard to such factors as race, ethnicity, family dynamics, gender, socioeconomic status, values, and traditions in each service delivery area
- Knowledge of systems building and thinking, and ability to demonstrate the habits of a systems thinking preferred
AGENCY/PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
- Adhere to and implement the Arizona Department of Economic Security’s Scope of Work, Uniform Terms and Conditions, Article 50, and quality assurance requirements, as well as, Child & Family Resources’ policies and procedures for CCR&R and agency
- Adhere to and implement all performance and quality improvement strategies, plans, and activities per Child & Family Resources’ policies and procedures and all Council on Accreditation’s best practices and productivity standards
- Must be eligible and able to obtain a class-one Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card, pass a criminal and child abuse background check
- Obtain a minimum of 12 hours of professional development annually
- Local, state travel, overnight, and weekend stays required; national travel may be required
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Must have a current Arizona Driver’s License and an insured, reliable automobile, with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 39 months
ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Sitting for extended periods daily; standing and walking short distances
- Moderate twisting, bending, stooping and lifting up to 40 pounds in the performance of assigned duties
- Normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination required
- Repeated hand-wrist movement required
- Ability to use a variety of office equipment and machines as referenced
The nature of the position involves a fast-paced working environment with multitasking of many different duties and tasks. General daily priorities may change at a moment’s notice and the position requires quick response time and flexibility.
