Summary: Promotes the Mission and core values of the Arlington of Naples and Lutheran Life Communities by demonstrating professional and ethical work practices while fostering excellence in hospitality and customer service. Provides companionship and assists with the daily personal needs of clients to provide a safe, quality environment and lifestyle. Contributes to the vision of the Arlington of Naples and Lutheran Life Communities. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Performs all CNA responsibilities and tasks appropriately and in a timely manner. Provides companionship and assists with the daily personal needs of clients as required and according to the plan of care. Provides aid with the client’s self administered medication regiment in accordance with regulations and procedures. Follows established plan of care for each individual client so as to maintain the client’s highest level of independent living. Helps clients in a variety of tasks related to personal hygiene, such as assisting with bathing, dressing, shaving, shampooing hair and oral hygiene as appropriate. Assists in meal planning, preparation and serving when appropriate. Follows all policies and procedures of My Solutions. Updates and provides reports to supervisor, both verbally and/or in written form, in a timely manner. Performs duties and carries out responsibilities in a professional, caring, courteous manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of My Solutions and works cooperatively with the client, the family and staff. Maintains a safe and sanitary environment in each client’s apartment/home by cleaning surfaces, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, removing/washing/putting away dishes, washing and changing linens and personal laundry, emptying trash as plan of care determines. Provides assistance with ambulation and repositioning when necessary. Transports, escorts and accompanies clients to various personal appointments as needed. Submits time slips/calls in hours in a punctual manner to ensure correct billing of services and timely payroll payment. Physical Requirements & Work Environment: Corrected vision and hearing within normal range. Occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases or other potentially infectious substances. Occasional exposure to cleaning agents and disinfectants. Assists and supports up to 50 pounds with varying amounts of assistance on a reoccurring basis. Low level of noise exposure in a home-like environment. Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and or feeling. Required to walk and stand continuously. Frequently required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when working with residents and handling equipment. This is an as needed, on-call position. Education/Experience/Skills: Current Florida CNA license. Must be able to read and write legibly in English. Must be able to comprehend and carry out oral and written instructions and procedures. Must be able to verbally communicate information to clients and staff. Current CPR certification is required. Experience working with seniors is preferred. Work schedule may include weekends, holidays and all shifts. Understanding of hospitality, first impressions and customer focus, Certification and Licensure: Current Florida CNA and valid CPR certification are required.
