The Community Assistance Manager oversees both the Community Engagement and Community Assistance divisions in the Neighborhood & Human Services Department. The successful candidate will be a results-oriented people person who strives to bring programs and services to individual residents, neighborhoods and the greater region as well as possess experience managing the lifetime of multiple federal grants. Experience in a municipal or government setting is preferred, and previous supervisory experience is required.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for providing the best customer service to internal and external customers. A successful leader of the Community Assistance and Community Engagement teams will possess:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven and creative problem solving skills and a desire to offer unique experiences for citizens
• Demonstrable experience leading residents, community groups or interested parties to having greater interaction with their local government or oversight agency for mutual benefit and connection
• Expansive experience that shows the ability to support and continue to evolve a varied group of programs and staff, as well as leadership and/or City initiatives
• Experience that portrays success in public sector budgeting, personnel, organizational development, as well as exceptional leadership
• The aptitude to communicate clearly, concisely, honestly and persuasively with both staff, peers and upper levels of management
• A supportive approach to resolving complex or sensitive issues, including problem solving competencies for divisional needs and employee requests
