King & Spalding, a leading global law firm, seeks a Community Affairs Coordinator to provide support to the firm’s community affairs and volunteer program activities. The Coordinator will support the partners’ Community Fund Committee and annual Atlanta Office United Way campaign. They will also engage in strategic and creative analysis to brainstorm ways to get lawyers and non-lawyers involved in firm programs and will conduct evaluations of community service programs to offer recommendations for which programs will be most impactful.

Candidates will have the following responsibilities:
- Maintain firm-wide civic/charitable contribution records: research giving history for contribution requests; obtain W-9 and banking documentation for non-profits; submit requests for checks or electronic payments.
- Communicate with partners on pending contribution requests as needed; follow up with partners for partner matching funds data; Document all partner matches, organize matching funds data by client, and create partner contribution summary reports.
- Forward charitable tax receipts received from non-profits to designated Finance Department personnel.
- Reconcile firm-wide civic/charitable contributions and expenses on monthly general ledger reports with department database records. Generate and review monthly pro bono pre-bill reports to identify and bill specific expenses to the pro bono client, per firm policy. Provide monthly budget reports to the Pro Bono Partner and Deputy Pro Bono Attorney.
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of the Atlanta Office annual United Way campaign including online pledge process, pledge form distribution, campaign status reports, logistics for campaign events, and campaign publicity. Correspond with team captains, follow-up with donors, oversee donor recognition and preparation of final campaign reports for United Way.
- Coordinate and track the donation and contribution process for disaster relief funds, Woodruff Arts Center campaign, office Denim Days and other non-profits.
- Coordinate the Volunteer of the Quarter program from outreach to offices for nominees, assist with vetting and selecting award winners, to ordering and distributing program awards.
- Maintain/update data in firm-wide non-profit board member Intranet database and community service volunteer tracking spreadsheets and run reports as needed.
- Maintain/update community service, Community Fund and pro bono Intranet pages and Teams page. Verify all firm contacts quarterly and add new project descriptions as requested.
- Copmile statistics, other data and descriptions for firm-wide civic/charitable contributions, volunteer projects and pro bono activities and submit content for publication as directed by supervisors. Create outgoing communications in Vuture or similar program for various internal campaigns.
- Develop new hire materials on volunteer program and United Way and deliver presentations at new hire orientation.
- Serve as the point of contact for community service partners and maintain these relationships by keeping up to date with organizational priorities and goals.
- Plan and coordinate logistics for Atlanta Office virtual, in-house and off-site community service projects, meetings and events, including set-up, on-site coordination, publicity and communications. Annual community service activities include projects with clients, annual Habitat House builds, and team building projects with departments and practice groups.
- Coordinate firm-wide and multi-office community service projects and assist other offices, as needed. Schedule quarterly meetings with Community Partners Council (community service) office representatives and help promote community service activities in each office.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2-3 years of prior community service involvement required
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several tasks and projects at the same time
- Ability to work individually and in a team environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Experience with desktop publishing, basic graphic design and database management is preferred
