Job Summary: Southwest Insurance Agency (SWIA), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hilltop Securities Inc., provides annuities, life insurance, long-term care, and disability income insurance products for distribution through Hilltop Securities’ Private Client Group and Hilltop Securities Independent Network. This position is located in our Dallas office.

The Commissions Associate reports to the Insurance Manager and is responsible for a variety of daily, monthly and quarterly tasks.
Essential Functions:

• Calculate Insurance Commissions
• Maintain commission schedules for each vendor HTIN works with
• Research and answer commission questions for HTS advisors
• Point of contact between SWIA and HTS Accounting Department for commission reporting, auditing advisor commissions, and researching issues
• Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports
• Become proficient and an office resource for the Insurance departments products, systems, and policies

Job Requirements:

• 3 - 5 years accounting experience or any similar combination of education and experience.
• Financial services industry experience preferred.
• Experience with insurance products and knowledge preferred.
• Professional demeanor and effective business communication skills (both oral and written) with sharp punctuality.
• PC proficiency with an emphasis on MS Office Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
• Excellent organizational skills with scrupulous attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and juggle multiple tasks and priorities
• Respond to moderately complex issues and problems efficiently and effectively while meeting multiple deadlines.
• Willingness to obtain Group 1 Life & Health license
