) invites applications for a full-time, grant-funded, College Navigator (Education Support Specialist
III
,) at the Warsaw campus who shares RCC’s values of integrity, diversity, equity, and inclusion, excellence, access, and learning for life. This position is a full-time grant funded position. Excellent benefits package; salary is commensurate with experience but not to exceed $45,000.
The College desires candidates with a commitment to the community college mission and experience working in a diverse student population, including adult learners and at-risk students. The successful candidate will be committed to academic excellence, continuous improvement through professional development, assessment, program and course development, and creating a collegial environment of civility, collaboration and open communication. The College strives for a faculty and staff with expertise in best practices, innovative strategies, and instructional technologies that support teaching and learning and who are well connected to the communities we serve.
The college navigator will communicate with their students on a regular basis by engaging them in person or virtually one-to-one and/or in small groups. College navigators will communicate with college faculty advisors, high school navigators, and student services personnel to ensure that their students have access to college resources and support that will lead to completion of their academic program. College navigators will capture appropriate data on student communications, interactions, and success strategies in order to strengthen the college’s use of college navigators. As a full-time, grant-funded position, continuation beyond a one-year term is contingent upon program performance and available budget resources.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as counseling, human resources, social services, or adult education preferred or the equivalent in education, training, and experience. The college navigator must have knowledge and experience in the following areas: Strong interpersonal skills to help engage, provide support to, and motivate students. Ability to develop individualized academic plans with students that will lead to program completion. Knowledge of and links to financial aid and scholarship information available through the college. Academic and career counseling skills. Effective problem-solving skills. Knowledge of specific needs of underserved populations in order to attain educational success. Ability to work with students with identified risk factors for academic success. Ability to work with high school navigators, college faculty and staff in support of student success. Strong communication skills. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite and social media. Strong presentation and facilitation skills. Applicants must possess a current driver’s license and the ability to provide their own transportation to meet with students in various college locations throughout the service region, as necessary to perform job responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Work experience in counseling or academic coaching and advising software platforms is preferred. Masters degree completed or in progress preferred. Experience serving a caseload of clients preferred.
