Purpose

In collaboration with the Director, College and Career Pathway Coordinator, Program Instructors, and Indiana DWD CTE policies, carry out the duties assigned by the Carl Perkins Federal Guidelines, subsequently promoting and ensuring that students receive high quality work-based (School Based Enterprise) experiences preparing them for employment in their given pathway.

Education

Licensed School Guidance Counselor and/or Teacher (Business, FACS, or Technology Education). Willing to license those with proper experience. Business experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Development of Work-Based Learning (School Based Enterprise) Program

• Stays current on IDOE, DWD & Perkins work-based learning policies by researching and/or attending seminars.
• Evaluates, maintains & creates experiences within/outside of Area Career Center classrooms documenting necessary for work-based learning opportunities.
• Documents student work and progress before, during and after the student’s activities.
• Maintains accurate documentation of all student work-based learning and reports information to sending schools and state reporting systems.

Monitoring of High-Quality programs

• Works closely with program instructors to ensure high-quality work-based learning opportunities and implementation of WBL experiences.
• Aligns work-based learning to course standards.
• Monitors student activities provides coaching when needed.
• Determines and implements opportunities to improve safety and industry standards.

Business Partnership

• Creates and maintains relationships with partner organizations.
• Plans on-site partner visits and solicits input.
• Implements partner organization suggestions to ensure a high-quality program.
• Assists with stakeholder input implementation at the Area Career Center and in the field.

Program Promotion

• Develops promotion opportunities for ACC services.
• Grows program services supporting the market.
• Ensures programs provide high quality customer service interactions along with high quality products/services.
