The Collections Support Clerk I performs general office duties and supports broader servicing efforts in the collections department. This team member has contact with other Company departments, Vendors and outside agencies.

Responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES
- Ensure actions are in compliance with policies and procedures
- Meet deadlines and complete assigned task and accuracy
- Initiate and share ideas for process and quality improvements
- Submit all pertinent documentation to imaging in a timely and accurate manner
- Document and update the department's systems of record
- Receive, assemble and distribute inbound and outbound mail
- Communicate with external vendors as necessary
- Attend and actively participate in training sessions and team/department meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Conform with all company policies and procedures
Knowledge
- Administrative and clerical procedures and systems
- Basic knowledge of general office procedures
- Basic software applications (eg, Outlook, Word, Excel, Lotus, Access, Internet, Email)
- Office equipment (eg, printers, telephones, copiers, fax machines, etc)
Skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Accurate typing, 10-key and word processing skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to Collections
- Understanding of Repossession and Reinstatement policies, procedures and processes
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to use appropriate analysis, judgement and logic related to immediate scope of duties
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- 0-2 years previous experience in collections or finance; experience performing general office duties preferred
Working Conditions
- Occasional overtime or split shifts may be required
- Fast-paced office environment
- Subject to daily service level requirements
