Primary responsibilities include ability to splice/test/repair cables/wires in both indoor and outdoor settings, read, create and maintain splicing diagrams, maintain activities surrounding the assigned work site(s), and taking splicing field notes.
Responsibilities:Performs tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of cable Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation Basic daily maintenance of provided vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicle Self-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications. Safely operate and use bucket truck to complete daily construction assignments as needed. Complete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built maps" for areas built and track daily production. Frequently work independently Other splicing related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Ability to read and build from cable prints. Ability to distinguish colors Must have a high school diploma or equivalent Must be able to pass pre-employment background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test Possess a valid driver’s license (class "C" minimum) or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position (possibly class "B" - light commercial) Must be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications: OSP telecommunication construction experience; cable experience Experience in splicing, balancing, and documenting CATV systems
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary Must be able to work in all weather conditions Benefits and Company Summary: Medical Insurance, Paid Time Off and Holidays

To be considered for this position, a candidate must possess the ability to climb and work aloft either from a ladder or aerial lift device, sit or stand for long periods, work independently, work in cramped and/or enclosed spaces and work alone for extended periods, while using repetitive and/or fine hand movements. Outside in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and precipitation, and in rugged terrain such as back easements, rural locations and at active construction sites. Periodic lifting and manipulating plant and equipment up to 50 pounds is required. Noise level can range from moderate to loud and from intermediate to constant.
