Sunlight-Tech, Inc., an engineering automation design company located in Mokena, is looking to hire a full-time CNC Machinist/Set-Up Person. Standard hours would be Mon-Fri 8-10 hours per day. Hours may fluctuate based on the needs of the company. This is an hourly paid full-time position.

Job Description

• Machine setup and operation.
• Replaces broken or worn tooling and secures all tooling
• Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixtures.
• Verify conformance of work piece to specifications, using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and go-no-go gauges.
• Ability to edit G-Codes and make corrections.
• Visually and dimensionally inspects production parts for any defects and report defects to immediate supervisor.
• Completes necessary job-related paperwork to include tags, inspection documents, and production log.
• Works effectively with all department personnel and co-workers in a harmonious and cooperative manner to meet the needs and goals established by the company.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor; may include department transfers to meet production needs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Must be able to read & interpret drawings, blueprints, and written procedures.
• Must be able to operate production & test equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers as needed.
• Ability to comprehend and follow simple oral or written instructions.
• Regularly required to stand and reach the duration of shift, 8-10 hours.
• Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.
• Frequently required to perform repetitive or short-cycles work.
• Regularly lift, push or pull up to 10 to 50 pounds.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles resulting from metalworking coolants and oils.

Education & Experience

• Has experience operating CNC milling machines.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience on horizontal milling machines.
• Additional experience with milling machines is a plus.
• Strong work ethic: Willing to work OT to meet tight deadlines as needed.
• High school diploma or GED is a plus.

Additional Information

• Normal business hours, some overtime and weekend work (M-F, 6 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
• Legal authorization in the U.S. is required. Must be able to bring legal paperwork.
• Must comply to a background check.
• Polish speaking is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
