Job Description

We have an immediate opportunity for a 2nd Shift Machinist ​to join our clients team in Freeport, IL. The Machinist operates and setups of conventional, numerical control (NC), and special purpose, machines and machining centres to machine steel and brass components.

This client is offering a sign-on bonus for new Machinist.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
• Follows safety regulations and actively contributes to work safety
• Follows all standard work, control plans, all processes and quality guidelines
• Must be able to operate multiple machines
• Evaluates situations objectively and demonstrates the ability to make timely decisions
• Organizes and prioritizes work assignments to complete assignments/tasks on time
• Applies creative approaches and ideas to solve problems

Background & Skills

· High school diploma/(GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Evening shift
• Night shift
• Overtime
• Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

• Signing bonus

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Freeport, IL 61032: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Machining: 1 year (Preferred)
