Position Summary:
Responsible for the machine layout, process flow, and continuous improvement for Machining and Recovery Departments. This includes researching, sourcing, justification, and support for capital projects. Lead and manage the development of new processes, techniques, fixturing, and tooling in support of recovery and machining depts.
Develop and improve machines, equipment, and tooling to improve Safety, Quality, and Productivity of processes and facility.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead a culture that is Safe, Quality minded, and Productive through actions, words and documentation.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively in a constantly changing and time sensitive environment while prioritizing multiple tasks in parallel.
- Excellent communication skills both orally and written with keen attention to detail.
- Create recovery and salvage techniques for New Product Launch of core components.
- Responsible for Continuous Improvement for machine and labor optimization within Machining Department.
- Explore and develop new process techniques for salvage and recovery of core.
- Allocate and acquire capital goods through the acquisition process.
- Manage multiple projects at any given time.
- Support fellow Manufacturing Engineers as required by project timelines and magnitude.
- Develop error proofing devices and procedures to improve Safety, Quality and Efficiency.

They select the appropriate media (email, voice mail, face-to-face, letter, etc.) for the information being delivered and are comfortable making presentation on familiar subject matter in front of groups.

- To communicate with the Safety Department to ensure that all OSHA 1910 standards are followed.
- To communicate with the Quality Department to ensure that all ISO standards are followed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
- Five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment within a machining and fabricating background.
- Metallurgical competency and heat treatment experience highly preferred
- Previous laser cladding or laser welding experience is a plus.
- Able to use or learn various machinery including welding, machining, wash, press and material handling equipment.
- AutoCAD experience is required, Solid modeling is a prefered, Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to communicate knowledge. Broad exposure to manufacturing processes, tools and equipment.
- Familiar with many drawing formats, units of measure, measuring tools and techniques
- Good understanding of OSHA, ANSI and the EPA as they relate to industry and industrial situations.
- Must be able to read SDS sheets
