Clinical researcher in Neurology sought. The Hennepin Healthcare Department of Neurology is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty position for an physician whose research expertise focuses on the prevention and treatment of stroke, optimizing brain health in our community, and establishing the clinical capacity in the department to conduct and instruct trainees in cutting edge technologies. Research experience required and demonstrated ability to compete for Federal research grant support (e.g., K or R level awards) preferred. Methodologic expertise in a diverse spectrum of any one or more areas will be considered for this position (e.g., both laboratory and non-laboratory based).

The position includes up to five years 50-75% protected time for research, with the remaining time dedicated to clinical and educational endeavors. Research start-up funds are available. The successful candidate will join an expanding clinical research program in the Department of Neurology, funded by NIH and multi-center industry trials, imbedded within the Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute (HHRI). Strong research collaborations have been established with the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, including the Neurology Department and Strokenet (an NIH funded network which conducts clinical trials and research studies to advance acute stroke treatment, stroke prevention, and recovery and rehabilitation following a stroke). Hennepin Healthcare includes Hennepin County Medical Center which is the safety net hospital for the Minneapolis area and a major teaching affiliate of the University of Minnesota, located 10 minutes away. Most faculty at Hennepin Healthcare hold an academic position at the University in their cognate department. The recruit is eligible for an Academic track faculty position at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
