Roles & Responsibilities:
The Clinical Research Nurse at the Depression and Anxiety Center for Discovery and Treatment (DAC) is a Registered Professional Nurse who is responsible for assisting in the assessment and execution of clinical tasks for subjects enrolled into IRB approved research studies and clinical trials, as specified by DAC's research protocols. Provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated patients who have agreed to participate in DAC's research studies and clinical trials. Potential opportunities available to the successful candidate include: publication in major medical journals; networking among distinguished individuals within and outside the medical/psychology fields; exposure to wide spectrum of psychiatric disorders and treatments thereof.
This position will 1) play an integral role in the continuing performance of our clinical trials as well as fulfilling our research protocols, and 2) require an individual who understands basic principles of scientific investigation and clinical trials and who is capable of in-depth understanding of the project's study protocol. Thus, the incumbent must possess excellent scientific, organizational, and interpersonal skills; the incumbent must also have a background in psychology to manage the technical aspects of the study.
Duties and Responsibilities (in order of importance and/or frequency):
- Coordinating and running experimental procedures for clinical research trials
- Entering and analyzing data
- Study related paperwork and administrative tasks
- Conducting phone screens on potential subjects
- Presentation/publication preparation
- Performs other related duties as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred; nursing degree required
- Candidate must have a minimum of two years of experience in a hospital, psychological, psychiatric, or other mental health-related environment. Relevant clinical competence in area of nursing practice assigned; new graduates must possess current knowledge of the nursing process and its application
- Experience with (1) psychological/psychiatric research, (2) academic settings, (3) multi-site trials, and (4) program coordination is preferred

- Name: Basic Life Saver (BLS) // Issuing Agency: AHA
- Candidate must have basic level skills in Microsoft Office
General Skills:
- Must have relevant clinical competence in area of nursing practice assigned; new graduates must possess current knowledge of the nursing process and its application
- Evidence of ability to maintain interpersonal relationships, communicate appropriately to others, and work effectively and efficiently to solve problems
- Demonstrates the ability to work in a team displaying effective communication and critical thinking
- Ability to read, write, understand and speak English in a clear and concise manner
- Visual, physical, auditory and cognitive ability to assess patient status
- Physical and mental health necessary to care for acutely ill patients with a broad variety of diagnoses and behaviors on a daily basis
- Ability to walk, stand, lift, stoop, push and respond quickly in a variety of situations and for an extended period of time
- Manual dexterity to perform a variety of clinical procedures relevant to practice area (i.e. venipuncture, urinary catheterization, cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
- Ability to use basic data entry, retrieval systems and the electronic medical record documentation system in a proficient manner

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $102,384.54 - $113,135.27 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
