Job Summary
Provides organizational support and coordination of staff development and clinical education functions. Incorporates current trends, new approaches, clinical regulatory requirements and QI activities into curriculum, projects and policies and procedures. Serves as nursing representation on clinical documentation, forms development and patient satisfaction initiatives. Provides leadership and mentoring for staff via education and support life-long learning as a value. Evaluates and mentors initial clinical competency and orientation for Women’s Health across Skagit Regional Health. Essential Functions
Coordinates SVH and CVH participation in the regional patient satisfaction collaborative and participates in the analysis, distribution and use of this information to improve patient satisfaction including department planning activities, focused training efforts, mentoring of front line staff and development of scripts for staff use. Active participant in nursing staff development committees. Serves as nursing representative on forms committee, clinical documentation team and care planning initiatives. Employs cost effective approaches to providing education. Assists clinical areas in identifying clinical education/staff development needs. Participates in orientation of staff and coordination of patient relations database and service recovery program. Utilizes information gathered in these activities for continued performance improvement and staff development efforts. Network with peers in other organizations and professional groups for personal growth and to update personal knowledge. Supervises house-wide computer-based learning system to provide mandatory reviews and department-specific review as requested by leadership. Assists clinical areas and other CNS with staff development programs, issues and nursing protocols, procedures and guidelines. Supervise educational record keeping and class registration. Complies with all SRH policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
Masters in Nursing, MN or MSN required.
Experience/Training
Minimum three years’ experience in staff development/curriculum development required. Previous labor, delivery or nursery nursing experience highly desirable.
License/Certification
AHA (American Heart Association) BLS and WA State RN License required. Specialty certification, AHA (American Heart Association) NRP, & AHA (American Heart Association) ACLS preferred.
Other Qualifications
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, collaborative project management, teaching, and cost/benefit analysis. Excellent interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communications skills.
