Overview:
This technical/professional position is responsible to oversee system data management and analytics. The position is responsible for compiling and organizing healthcare data, analyzing data to assist in delivering optimal healthcare management, and communicating their findings with leadership/management.
Responsibilities:
Data Management: Coordinates performance improvement (PI) data management and analysis.
  • Collaborates with departmental managers/directors and hospital staff.
  • Collects data for Joint Commission, CMS, NYSDOH, NHSN, etc to ensure compliance with regulatory body regulations.
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives.
  • Collects and submits data for Quality/Regulatory Project benchmarking.
  • Produces reports incorporating statistical tools and benchmarking information based on PI data.
  • Assists with collection of data for focused study projects as identified e.x. Leapfrog, Culture of Safety Survey
Support: Supports Quality/Compliance activities through risk identification, data collection, and reporting.
  • Reviews data submitted and follow-up by department managers and directors.
  • Assist in the preparation of Board Quality report.
  • Assists Risk Management in preparation of other Risk Management reports as identified and needed.
Organizational knowledge: Works effectively within and between departments and campuses.
  • Participates on inter-departmental teams and committees
  • Provides department/unit with information and knowledge acquired during participation with interdepartmental teams and committees.

Qualifications:
Position Requirements:
  • BA/BS, with a preference for a graduate degree
  • At least three (3) to five (5) years experience in the field
  • At least five years of experience in the Performance Improvement discipline in a hospital with a successful track record and demonstrated progressive management.
  • Advanced knowledge of PI principles and extensive experience in facilitating improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of CMS, TJC and other applicable regulations.
  • Fluent in MS Office, including MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience with EPIC Reporting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external customers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for data entry, reporting and analysis
  • HIPAA policies on Confidentiality

Language Skills:

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
