Position Summary:
Offering a $5,000 sign-on/retention bonus! This position will be assigned to the Tacoma and Puyallup locations to work onsite with the RN team that conducts telephonic triage and provides support for the clinic’s paneled patients. This position is part of the nursing team managing all telephone calls, patient messages, and in-basket messages for the clinics. In addition to the desktop work, this position will assist with walk-in ECG, BP screening visits, nurse follow-up visits, and pre-procedure COVID testing collection. This is a position requiring excellent customer service skills and attention to detail. It is highly visible, requiring discretion, good judgment, a pleasant and professional manner and articulate. We are offering a $5,000 Sign-On and Retention Bonus.
Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
- Documenting in the telephonic or patient message encounter any completed tasks, patient data, and all other information required by regulatory agencies.
- Answering calls and providing pertinent information (clinical information as directed by the provider).
- Coordinating medication refills per physician’s instructions.
- Relaying instructions or information to patients/families.
- Performing ECG
- Performing screenings per provider instruction, collecting specimens.
- Covid Testing Responsibilities to include: Providing daily PCR and Rapid Antigen Swabbing/Testing for Covid-19 at designated location
- Sending/receiving patient medical records.
- Obtaining lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.
- Coordination of procedure scheduling, referral appointments and explains instructions to patients.
- Preparing information/consent forms for patient as needed.
- Ensuring complete information in the medical record.
- Cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patients to maintain infection control.
- Cleaning sterilizer according to schedules maintenance program.
- Keeping appropriate records, ordering, sorting, storing supplies and restocking exam/procedure rooms.
- Respecting/promoting patient rights.
- Responding appropriately to emergency codes.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer data entry
- Performing other clinical related duties as assigned by the Nurse Team Lead within the scope of practice for a MA as defined by the WACs.
Qualifications:
- Understand infectious disease protocols and best practices
- Ability to meet all safety and regulatory requirements
- Must be able to work in a fast paced and physically demanding environment
- Must be reliable and dependable
Education/Licensees/Certifications:
- Active certifications or licenses: MA license in good standing
- Ability to provide to proof of COVID-19 vaccine upon hire – must be fully vaccinated; or we offer a Exemption process-inquire at the time of interview regarding the process.

The employee must rarely lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Extensive keyboard typing is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to include extensive computer screen work and ability to adjust focus to produce or review reports. May require frequent standing, sitting and/or crouching for long periods of time.

Schedule: Monday to Friday – 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (No weekends)
License/Certification:
Valid Medical Assistant License is required with no restrictions or adverse actions
