Job description
Position supports the staff of Campus Recreation by delivering and supporting the digital tools needed to fulfill the mission of “enhancing the educational experience and promoting lifelong wellness.” Responsible for the oversight of Campus Recreation’s device inventory, primary user contacts, distribution of user level one tasks, device hardware configurations, and management of device hardware regular maintenance. Responsible for utilizing the service desk software to maintain user incidents, user requests and maintenance. This position is expected to utilize industry recognized incident management, remote management, and system management tools to monitor, assist and resolve client related issues. Responsible for responding to, researching and resolving user incidents on Microsoft Windows and Apple iOS systems. This person will assist the Assistant Director to support the users, support device hardware and operating systems. This person will assist the Assistant Director in managing device hardware through device management servers. Some lifting and delivery of equipment is required. Regular on-call hours and occasional evening and weekend hours will be required.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree in related field plus 2 years of computing support, including customer contact (including customer service end-user support) required; equivalent education/experience considered. High school diploma plus 4 years of enterprise support experience will substitute for the associate’s degree. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Microsoft Windows, email, Internet, PC and Mac hardware and software, networking, file sharing, and printers necessary. Demonstrated knowledge and experience installing Microsoft Windows essential. Must have demonstrated knowledge and experience with computer hardware repair/replacement. Knowledge and experience with TCP/IP, Microsoft Office and Apple iOS required. Must demonstrate broad range of desktop PC/MAC user support experience; working knowledge of wired/wireless network connectivity troubleshooting skills; understanding of best practices for secure computing; familiarity with configuring/troubleshooting popular mobile device platforms; and some software related application support. Must demonstrate strong track record of proven customer service skills and knowledge of customer service practices, including en-user support experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or related field preferred. Three years of direct computing support including direct customer contact desirable. Prefer demonstrated knowledge of routers and mobile devices. Knowledge of and experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Active Directory, Windows File Sharing, Apple OS X helpful. Experience planning, documenting and implementing technical projects preferred. Knowledge and experience with PC system virtualization helpful. Prefer knowledge and experience with PC scripting or batch files desirable. Familiarity with UNL systems preferred.
