Position

The Investment Operations team within Allspring Global Investments has responsibility for the day-to-day business management of the firm’s business functions and processes.

A Client Reporting Specialist acts as a liaison between the client area and the technical organization by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements. A Client Reporting Specialist within the Information Reporting Team must be a seasoned operations contributor with a passion for excellence, client experience, efficiency, control, and transformation.

Works with users’ groups to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes. Prepares specifications for system changes. May develop systems test plan components and test scripts. May act as an internal consultant within technology and business groups by using quality tools and process definition/improvement to re-engineer technical processes for greater efficiencies.


Responsibilities:

  • Supporting team In-box requests by acting as a central point of contact for a wide range of operational and administrative inquires.
  • Leading Information Reporting / Client Reporting projects and coordinating internally.
  • Analyze business processes and automate manual tasks to gain efficiencies and volume tolerance.
  • Respond to client requests and conduct special projects/analyses.
  • Produce a wide variety of scheduled and ad-hoc reports related to portfolio and benchmarking holdings, characteristics, performance, and attribution.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (S.M.E.) on Allspring investment data footprint, key data sources, timing, methodologies, and usage across channels.
  • Leverage third party market data tools to support institutional client reporting, including products such as Clearwater Analytics, Bloomberg, Advent APX, FactSet PA, FactSet SPAR, and Castine commission reporting.
  • Maintain and update data reporting procedures, standard operating procedures.
  • Provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Onboard institutional clients via an Admin Portal for on-line access to our client reporting portal.
  • Design client reports in Vermilion and maintain report package schedules.

  • Ability to evaluate operating processes and controls for potential risks and enhancement opportunities.
  • Experience with a broad set of asset classes including equity, fixed income, derivative instruments (swaps, futures, options, & etc.).
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Outstanding technical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to independently develop strategic recommendations on operational data.
  • Proven self-starter and ability to implement creative solutions with limited tech support/resource, utilizing appropriate technologies to automate.
  • Willingness to answer team inbox requests.
  • Demonstrating sound decision making and strategic thinking which reflects an understanding of our businesses and its priorities.
  • Experience identifying inefficiencies, finding opportunities to streamline business processes, and implementing change.
  • Driving for results, conveying a sense of urgency, and bringing issues to closure despite obstacles and opposition.
  • Demonstrating outstanding flexibility, teamwork, and leadership skills across all levels of WFAM and its affiliates.
  • Monitoring, assessing, and analyzing accounts on an ongoing basis for data quality to minimize operation and systemic risk.

Candidate

Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics.
  • 5+ years of business systems analysis or design experience.
  • 5+ years of investment industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience of strong, direct knowledge of the operations area of an asset management firm across a variety of functions including performance attribution, client reporting, portfolio accounting, investment data management and financial reporting.
  • Past practical experience with investment software including FactSet Analytics, Vermilion, Advent APX, Clearwater Analytics, Bloomberg, and outside Benchmark vendor sites (MSCI, BofA, and Barclays).
  • Advanced experience with building and understanding portfolio attribution reports.
  • Experience with developing complex spreadsheets and analysis with Microsoft Excel using advanced Excel functions.

Base Pay Range: $85,000 to $95,000

Salary Range for NYC and CA Candidates only. Actual based may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or non-annual incentive or sales plans.)
