Job description
Responsibilities
- Customer assistance and support regarding all aspects of literacy & curriculum projects
- Project coordination and acting liaison between internal and external parties
- Converse with publishers to ensure highest quality literacy materials are presented to customers
- Research and construct customized literacy solutions including Prek-12 book collections, digital content, and organization solutions for the K-12 market
- Develop custom title lists for thematic/inquiry units, book clubs, classroom libraries, and leveled libraries
- Write for the Mackin Teacher Talk blog
- Create and maintain lists of materials relating to content area subjects, curricular units, genres, and other topics – using reviews, samples
- Assess and develop new educational products and services, and provide support to marketing and sales initiatives for new products.
- Create teacher guides, book activities, and professional development resources as needed
- Potential for facilitating product based professional learning, demonstrating Mackin product and solutions, or leading presentations at conferences.
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent research skills
- Ability to work under deadlines with attention to detail
- Ability to manage several tasks at one time
- Ability to work independently as well as within a group
- Desire to work in a corporate environment where majority of time is spent on individual projects at computer and working directly with customers via email, Zoom, live chat, and phone calls
- Computer knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Google Drive
- Familiarity with educational standards and reading instruction
- Understanding of how curriculum is implemented and how resources are utilized in the classroom
- Able to work onsite and remote
Minimum Education & Experience
- Minimum: A bachelor's degree in education and at least 1 year of experience as classroom teacher.
- Preferred: A master's degree with 3+ years teaching experience
- Bonus: Experience in sales and the book marketplace
Hours
- Full-time day hours, working onsite and remote
