The primary responsibility of the Assistant Manager is to set and achieve the highest standard in all areas of store management which includes ensuring excellent customer service, team development, implementing company policies, food safety, store cleanliness, reaching maximum profitability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales and Profits

  • Builds sales by promoting Guest satisfaction.
  • Manages inventory (COGS), waste, and scheduling (labor costs) by evaluating actual #’s against projected sales throughout the shift. Product Quality
  • Maintains and delivers high quality products.
  • Monitors product quality by managing crewmember’s performance and providing specific feedback.
  • Monitors and ensures that food product areas are stocked, rotated and displayed to ensure freshness, appeal and easy customer access.

Service

  • Able to recruit, select, motivate and lead a team of employees to maintain a profitable and safe work environment.
  • Trains assistant managers, crew leads, and crewmembers in WOW! service.
  • Trains assistant managers, crew leads, and crewmembers to respond pro-actively to the Guest’s needs.
  • Manages shift to exceed the Guest’s expectations.

Housekeeping

  • Trains assistant managers, crew leads, and crewmembers to maintain bakery cleanliness during shift.
  • Follows the bakery-cleaning schedule.
  • Troubleshoots minor equipment repairs.
  • Follows procedures for reporting maintenance problems to the bakery manager.

Training

  • Trains assistant managers, crew leads, and crewmembers on all positions using the approved job aids.
  • Conducts effective assistant managers, crew leads, and crewmembers orientations.
  • Trains assistant managers, crew leads, and crewmembers on new products.
  • Successfully completes all assistant managers, crew leads, and crewmembers training within the designated timeframe.

Performance Management

  • Accomplishes all management duties in a timely manner.

Employee Relations

  • Effectively coaches assistant managers, crew leads, and crewmembers for improved performance.
  • Accurately and consistently documents inappropriate performance.
  • Uses consistent practices in managing performance problems.

Administration

  • Makes accurate drawer counts, safe audits, petty cash and bank deposits.
  • Creates and Monitors the weekly schedules and makes efficient labor adjustments.

Minimum Education: N/A

Preferred Education: High School or GED

Minimum Experience: 6 months as Shift Manager, Assistant Manager or equivalent in Restaurant environment

Preferred Experience: 1 year restaurant experience

Preferred Licenses/ Certifications and Skills: National Food Safety Certification required however can be obtained within 60 days of placement in position. Valid Driver’s license.

Scheduling: This position is full-time and involves working a variety of hours, day and night, as EG America locations can be open 24 hours depending on the location. Will primarily be scheduled on opposite shifts from the RGM. Weekend & Holiday hours are required.

Hours & Conditions: Full-time (30-40 hours)

Travel: 5% - will be required to deliver deposits to the bank. Reliable transportation is a must.

Physical Requirements: Ability to maneuver and regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Ability to stand/walk 8 hours a day; reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, reach, grasp and grip and work in cooler (cold temperatures). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Other: Specialized attire required in food establishments. Slip resistant footwear is required as well as attire specifically required by brand standards and franchise agreements.
