Position Description
Reports to:
Program Director
Overall Function:
The Children and Teen Coordinator is responsible for the planning and implementation of all children & teen program activities, as well as the supervision of all volunteers and staff assigned to work specifically within the Children & Teen Program.
The Children & Teen Coordinator will provide support to the Adult Program as outlined.
Status: Full Time with a $40,000 salary plus benefits
Program Responsibilities—95%
Children & Teen Program:
· Planning and implementation of all children, teen and family focused program activities, including but not limiting - support groups, networking groups, lectures, workshops, social events, Family Saturdays, special events and summer camp retreat.
· Conducts introductory family phone calls and tours of Children & Teen Space.
· Responsible for conducting outreach to local school district to grow the relationship between CSCGLV and the guidance department.
· Works with parents and children to formulate individualized support and participation plans and suggests supplemental support activities for parent members of CSCGLV.
· Coordinates and facilitates monthly family programs and plans additional nights in response to membership growth and demand.
· Develops a bi-annual format for parent and volunteer feedback, activity planning and mentoring of new and existing volunteers.
· Responsible for monthly calendar and all family focused activity planning.
· Produces quarterly newsletter highlighting Children & Teen Program activity.
· Responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of all Children & Teen related activities.
· Provides a trusting and supportive environment that ensures mutual peer support, supportive play, honest and open communication, consistency and continuity.
· Responsible for ensuring compliance with federal hygiene standards
· Ensures that children and teens are full and equal members of the CSCGLV community.
· Responsible for ensuring that Children & Teen activities are conducted in accordance with principles explained in CSC program philosophy.
· Responsible for developing and maintaining a Children & Teen manual that includes policies and procedures
Adult Program Management
· Responsible for program management and development at the direction of or in the absence of the Program Director.
· Facilitation of support and networking groups and conducts New Member Meetings as needed
· Participation in supervision and staff meetings
· Participates as active member of CSCGLV including tours and welcoming all members, volunteers and guests.
· Participates in all activities related to data entry and activity tracking
Grants (Include but not limited to):
· Research, prepare and submit grants to support program function
· Maintain grant and funding materials
Administrative and Data Responsibilities – 5%
· Answers phone, greets visitors, give tours
· Attend weekly staff meetings and other required meetings as needed
· Maintain aesthetics and appearance of building
· Other duties as assigned – perform additional tasks as needed to support organizational objectives
Qualifications
· Has a passion for the mission of CSCGLV
· Education: Bachelor’s level college degree in social work or counseling required.
· Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in a nonprofit setting, with group counseling experience preferred.
· Ability to work in an organized manner within established procedures
· Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple tasks, working independently
· Ability to use good judgment in making day-to-day decisions
· Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
· Strong organizational skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 per year
